With the purchase of Janeco Lightmix you receive an RHP-certified quality soil. Incidentally, every substrate from Atami has this certification. The RHP standard is strictly controlled and guarantees that the substrate is free from unwanted things like weed seeds, dangerous pathogens or even heavy metals. In addition, criteria such as water absorption capacity, air content, pH value or nutrient supply are decisive for achieving the quality standard. The application is completely safe thanks to the certification and the substrate is excellent for growing food or other things intended for consumption.
The Janeco Lightmix is made from different types of peat moss. These offer an optimal soil climate for most plants. The water storage capacity of peat moss in particular ensures healthy plants during cultivation. So that the roots can also convert sugar into energy, they need sufficient oxygen. Perlite in the Janeco Lightmix ensures the appropriate oxygen content and helps to keep the soil structure optimal for longer.
Janeco Lightmix is slightly pre-fertilized. Depending on the size of the plant pot, the type of plant and the size of the plant, fertilization is usually sufficient for 2 weeks. In exceptional cases or in the case of plants with low nutrient requirements, the food can also be sufficient for 3 to 4 weeks. After these periods, the nutrient balance in the soil should be maintained with liquid fertilizer.
These properties of the Janeco Lightmix make the substrate an ideal soil for a wide variety of types of plants. Thanks to the RHP seal, the substrate mixture is even primarily recommended for growing food or other edible plants. Over-fertilization can easily be avoided and in the further course of cultivation the gardener has full control over the nutrient supply.
